The Pedra da Gávea trail starts at Praça Professor Velho da Silva, in Barra da Tijuca. From this square, you will enter a condominium on the road on Estrada do Joá and climb to the highest point of the condominium. Just after this street (Sorimã), you will arrive at the trail entrance, where you will find signs for the Tijuca National Park and where you will leave your name and ID with the Park security guard to begin the approximately 1.6 km trail. .

How to get to Pedra da Gávea by bus?
For those going by bus to the entrance to the Pedra da Gávea trail, look for a bus that passes through Bairro do Itanhangá and more specifically through Praça Desembargador Araújo Jorge. From the square, you will continue walking along Estrada do Joa until Avenida Fleming until you reach Praça Professor Velho da Silva. From there, you will enter a condominium and go up Estrada Sorimã until you reach the entrance to the Park, where you will find signs for the Tijuca National Park and security guards.
