    Day 12

Arrival in Manaus!

Upon your arrival for the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will pick you up at the airport/bus station (MAO) and take you to your accommodation.

You will have the rest of the day free. Explore the city at your leisure and discover the main attractions, including the Amazonas Opera House, the Rio Negro Palace, and the Port, which are highly recommended.

On the second day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will depart from the hotel towards the Rio Mamori, our first stage of the expedition. We will head to the Ceasa port, where we will board a speedboat towards the famous Meeting of the Waters, the confluence of the Negro and Solimões rivers, which flow side by side for miles, forming the majestic Amazon River.

After this unique experience, we will continue our journey to the village of Careiro da Várzea. Here, we will make a brief stop at the local market, where we will take you to explore a variety of fruits, Amazonian fish, and other regional products.

We will then travel by land. Along the way, we will witness stunning landscapes, passing rivers and canals, and observing aquatic plants like the Victoria Regia, as well as various birds and small communities along the route.

We will arrive at our Lodge in the early afternoon, where we will check in and familiarize ourselves with the facilities. At 12:30, a delicious buffet lunch will be served, featuring typical flavors of Amazonian cuisine.

After lunch, we will explore the area around the lodge. Our guide will provide detailed instructions on the activities and the daily schedule of your Expedition Package in the Amazon.

At 19:30, dinner will be served. Afterwards, adventurers can rest and enjoy the amenities, preparing for the start of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, which will begin early.

On the third day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will depart from the Lodge at 07:30, after a hearty breakfast. We will bid farewell to the comfort of the lodge and set off on a jungle trek, searching for a safe and suitable place to set up camp. The trek will last approximately 5 hours, providing a total immersion in nature.

During the trek, our guides will teach you how to identify the ideal terrain for setting up shelter and recognize the region for establishing a fire base. The preparation of materials and setting up the camp will be an essential activity.

We will take a break for lunch, which will be served in the jungle, providing an authentic survival experience in the forest.

In the evening, we will take a night tour to explore the region, where the sounds of the Amazon jungle take on a new dimension. We will spend the night in the jungle, in a camp that we will set up ourselves, experiencing the true essence of survival in the Amazon.

On the fourth day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, after breakfast, we will set off on a jungle trek with the goal of learning essential survival techniques. Our guide will introduce methods for obtaining food within the forest. During the trek, we will have the opportunity to observe animals with diurnal habits and the entire Amazonian biodiversity.

The food found during the trek will serve as the basis for our lunch and dinner, providing an authentic experience.

As night approaches, we will set up our camp and spend another night immersed in the Amazon jungle.

On the fifth day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will leave the camp at 06:00 to witness the morning flight of birds, a unique and tranquil experience. After this activity, we will return to the base for breakfast. Then, we will begin to dismantle the camp, preparing for the next phase of our expedition.

In the morning, our adventurers will board motorized canoes, traversing small channels known as “Furos.” Our guides will take us to a new environment where we will set up our base, allowing us to explore different types of ecosystems.

The journey through the channels offers stunning landscapes and opportunities to observe the rich biodiversity of the region, from aquatic plants to various species of birds.

This new base will serve as a starting point for other adventures and activities.

On the sixth day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will leave the camp at 07:00, starting the morning with a hearty breakfast. Then, we will go canoeing through the small channels around the new camp. During this exploration, our guide will teach fishing techniques and how to find food in the jungle, which will serve as the basis for our lunch and dinner.

After dinner, we will embark on a night canoeing tour. This time will be dedicated to observing nocturnal animals and conducting rustic fishing using the traditional “Zagaia” technique, a type of harpoon. With a bit of luck, we might catch or spear an Acará, a very tasty fish appreciated by the locals. The success of this night fishing could result in a delicious lunch the next day.

After the night tour and fishing, we will return to the camp and relax, immersed in the tranquility of the Amazon jungle.

On the seventh day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will embark on a special canoeing trip through the igarapés, exploring the flooded part of the jungle (Igapó) that becomes submerged during the Amazon river’s flood season.

During the canoeing, there is a possibility of spotting groups of birds, sloths, and monkeys, making the tour even more fascinating.

In the afternoon, we will return to the camp and engage in regional fishing, where we can try to catch piranhas, tucunarés, or other types of fish that inhabit the region’s waters.

After the fishing, we will return to the camp, where we will prepare and enjoy our catch, followed by a restful night at the base.

On the eighth day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will leave the camp at 05:00 and begin our activities aboard canoes, contemplating the sunrise in the Amazon and the wonderful dawn within the rainforest. During this tour, there is a possibility of spotting groups of birds, macaws, and howler monkeys, whose loud calls can be heard from miles away.

After this morning experience, we will return to the camp for breakfast. The afternoon will be reserved for relaxation and free time.

Lunch will be served at the camp, providing a delicious meal amidst nature. In the early evening, dinner will also be served at the camp, allowing for a moment of camaraderie and rest.

This pause is necessary to plan our return to the central base of the expedition, ensuring that all details are prepared for the conclusion of the Expedition Package in the Amazon.

On the ninth day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, we will head towards a caboclo house, where we will have the unique opportunity to get to know the customs and traditions of the local residents up close. The hospitality of the caboclos will allow us to better understand the way of life and the stories that have shaped this region, rich in culture and biodiversity.

Our next stop is a cassava plantation of a local community. Here, we will discover the process of cultivating and harvesting this essential food for the inhabitants of the Amazon.

We will continue our tour with a visit to other community plantations, where we can observe Brazil nuts, peppers, vegetables, herbs, and spices. This experience will allow us to understand the agricultural diversity of the region and the importance of these crops for the local economy and food supply.

After a morning full of discoveries and learning, we will return to the Lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. The local cuisine, prepared with fresh regional ingredients, will provide a unique and authentic gastronomic experience.

We have arrived at the tenth day of the Expedition Package in the Amazon, where we will leave the lodge at 08:00 after breakfast, heading to a rubber tree and cassava plantation. During this visit, you will learn about the traditional caboclo process of “making flour” and discover the various types of foods manufactured by the riverside dwellers from cassava.

After the visit, we will return to the lodge for a delicious lunch featuring the typical flavors of local cuisine.

In the evening, we will celebrate with a barbecue and caipirinhas, in the company of the guides, trackers, and the entire expedition team. This will be a special moment for you to recall the unforgettable experiences lived during the journey.
