HIKE AND RAPPEL IN TIJUCA FOREST
The Tijuca Forest is one of the largest urban forests in the world, located within the limits of the Tijuca National Park. It is considered a UNESCO World Heritage site and features a rich diversity of natural beauty, historical attractions, and eco-touristic spots known worldwide.
The Hike and Rappel in Tijuca Forest starts at the entrance gate of Sector A – Tijuca National Park and includes hikes through the Atlantic Forest, a visit to the park’s visitor center and museum, the Cachoeira das Almas, and the Hike and Rappel in Tijuca Forest.
The walk begins fairly easy and remains that way until the base of the mountain, where we encounter more natural obstacles, with a rougher and steeper climb. From the summit of the Bico do Papagaio, it is possible to enjoy views of the main mountains of the Tijuca National Park, such as Pico da Tijuca, Pedra do Conde, Cocanha, Pedra Bonita, and Pedra da Gávea, as well as Sumaré and a small part of Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer.
