Day 1: Welcome to Rio de Janeiro!

We will pick you up at the Rio de Janeiro airport/bus station (SDU or GIG) and take you to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the city as you wish!

Day 2: The City of Rio de Janeiro!

Meals Included: Breakfast

We start the day with a visit to Corcovado, home to the Christ the Redeemer Statue, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. We will explore the lush areas of the Tijuca National Park, known for its rich natural beauty.

We will make a stop to visit the exterior of Maracanã Stadium to learn about the history of this iconic venue from the 1950 and 2014 World Cup Finals.

The tour continues to the Sambadrome, the stage for the Samba School parades during Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival, and includes a visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral of São Sebastião, the city’s patron saint.

Lunch will be at one of the most renowned steakhouses in Rio de Janeiro. (included)

Our tour proceeds to the Sugarloaf Mountain complex, where we will board the world-famous Sugarloaf Cable Car. We will also visit the Urca Hill Trail, Red Beach, and the old Urca Casino.

We will end our tour of Rio de Janeiro with visits to the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon.

Day 3: Ecological City Tour

Meals Included: Breakfast

We’ll start the ecological tour at the base of Pedra Bonita, where the Rio de Janeiro Paragliding and Hang Gliding ramp is located. With its privileged location, the launch ramp offers breathtaking views, including Morro Dois Irmãos, São Conrado Beach, and Rocinha Favela. We will then hike the Pedra Bonita trail, a relatively easy walk that takes about 40 minutes to reach the summit. From the top of Pedra Bonita, you can see Pedra da Gávea, the beaches of Barra da Tijuca and São Conrado, with the vast Tijuca Forest surrounding us. It’s a stunning natural viewpoint and one of the best spots to photograph Rio de Janeiro.

After descending from Pedra Bonita, the ecological tour continues through the Tijuca National Park towards Vista Chinesa, an oriental-style pavilion built between 1902 and 1906 to honor the Chinese who introduced tea cultivation to Brazil. The “pagoda,” originally made of bamboo and cement, is strategically positioned for an incredible panoramic view. From this vantage point, you can see several landmarks, including Christ the Redeemer, Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf Mountain, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, and the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon.

To wrap up our ecological tour, we will take a refreshing swim at the Horto Waterfall. The trail to the waterfall is of light difficulty with some obstacles along the way and is located within the Tijuca National Park.

Day 4: Goodbye Rio, Welcome to Foz do Iguaçu!

We will take you to the Rio de Janeiro airport (SDU or GIG) and pick you up at Foz do Iguaçu Airport (IGU), then transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the city as you wish!

Day 5: Brazilian Side of the Falls

In the morning, we will start the day by visiting the Brazilian side of the Falls, which provides a complete panoramic view. It is considered the best way to understand the vastness and splendor of this place. We will take a 1.5 km walk through nature, approaching the main viewing platform, which is very close to the falls. It’s a fitting introduction, with the spray from this incredible natural wonder soaking everyone.

In the afternoon, our bilingual guide will take you to Aguaray Ecosport, a protected area next to the National Park. There, we will embark on a 45-minute hike through preserved Atlantic Forest, reaching the banks of the Iguaçu River, where you will start a guided tour in a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. After the breathtaking ride, which takes about 1.5 hours to complete, we will take another 20-minute hike to a 15-meter-high waterfall. It’s a perfect experience for any nature lover!

Day 6: Argentine Side of the Falls

Meals included: Breakfast

We will start the day heading towards Argentina. Upon arriving at the National Park area, we will walk about 5 km through different waterfalls that together form one of the new seven wonders of nature: Iguassu Falls. The experience in Argentina brings you into intense contact with nature, offering the chance to observe some native animals and the incredible vegetation of the subtropical forest of the Park. You will walk through three different trails that provide various viewpoints of the falls. One of the highlights is the view of the Devil’s Throat: a platform that takes you right in front of these impressive cascades.

It is mandatory to carry valid photo identification (ID, driver’s license, or passport) to cross the border into Argentina.

Day 7: Until next time!

Do I Need a Visa?

As a Brazilian, only an updated RG is required to cross the border into Argentina and Paraguay. Please check the requirements before traveling, as this is the traveler’s responsibility.

How to Get to Rio de Janeiro?

By Air: There are direct flights to Rio de Janeiro. There are two airports: Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont (SDU) located in the city center and RIOgaleão – Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG) which is further out. Although we do not book flights, our team can help you find the best flight options for Rio de Janeiro at the time of booking. Contact us for more information.
By Car:
- From São Paulo: Take the Ayrton Senna/Carvalho Pinto (SP 070) and Via Dutra (BR 116). You will reach Linha Vermelha after about 430km.
- From Belo Horizonte: Follow BR 040, which will lead you to Linha Vermelha. You will reach Ipanema Beach after approximately 450km.
- From Paraty: Take the Rio-Santos (BR 101) which turns into Avenida Brasil upon reaching Rio de Janeiro. The distance from Paraty to Copacabana is about 250km. From Bahia, Espírito Santo, and Região dos Lagos, just take BR 101 and check your GPS for the least traffic. Copacabana Beach is about 520km from Vitória.
By Bus: The Rio de Janeiro Bus Terminal is located in the Port Zone, between the city center and the Rio-Niterói Bridge. It is 4km from the city center and 12km from Copacabana. Public transport is available around the terminal (buses and VLT).

What is the Physical Effort Involved?

Some activities in the Rio de Janeiro trip involve physical effort, such as the trails. However, these are not very difficult. As long as you do not have reduced mobility, you will enjoy 100%. We can adjust the schedule according to your needs.

Do I Need to Train for the Activities?

No training is required as our guides will provide full support.

Where Will I Sleep?

You will stay in hotels.

Cancellation and Postponement Policy

Weather and Meteorology: The itinerary and order of excursions may be subject to change due to weather conditions and/or adverse conditions for tourism activities. If necessary, Nattrip will postpone the activity to a compatible date at no additional cost.

Cancellations Due to Personal Reasons: According to EMBRATUR’s normative deliberation number 161 of August 9, 1985, refunds will be issued as follows:

Cancellation up to 30 days before the start of the activity: 90% refund of the total amount;
Cancellation between 29 and 21 days before the start of the activity: 80% refund of the total amount;
Cancellation less than 21 days before the start of the activity: no refund;

No-Show Situations: In the case of “no-show” situations, where the client does not notify the postponement or cancellation with a minimum notice period and/or does not participate in the activity, Nattrip reserves the right not to refund any amount to the client.
