Sugarloaf Mountain Hike
The adventure on the Sugarloaf Mountain Hike Costão is a classic in Rio and an unmissable journey.
Sugarloaf Mountain is one of the main postcards of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. Climbing this natural monument is a privilege for very few people. Nattrip invites you to embark on an adventure through the same path that the mountain was first conquered in 1817.
The Sugarloaf Mountain Hike begins on Cláudio Coutinho Track and after 20 minutes we reach a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the entrance of Guanabara Bay and the city of Niterói. From there, we start a more technical trail, alternating between dirt tracks, stone ramps, and some beautiful lookouts. The most vertical section of the tour is approximately 20 meters high and is considered basic level climbing. All safety equipment is included in the tour. After overcoming the short climbing section, we return to the technical walk until we reach the Philosopher’s Stone viewpoint, which has a magnificent view of Copacabana Beach, Pedra da Gávea, and Morro Dois Irmãos. From the Philosopher’s Stone, we continue our journey by trail to the summit of Sugarloaf. The descent is made by the Sugarloaf Cable Car, which takes us to Morro da Urca.
The Sugarloaf Mountain Hike Costão is an unforgettable adventure and a great opportunity for those who have never climbed to have a first contact with the sport. It does not require previous experience and the descent is made by the world’s most famous cable car, the Sugarloaf Cable Car. Book your adventure!
